The core IGB development team is transforming IGB into an extensible platform for community developers to create new genome visualizations and visual analytics functions as "IGB Apps." Previously, these were called "plug-ins" or "bundles" - this terminology comes from OSGi. We call this new platform the IGB API - the Integrated Genome Browser Application Programmers Interface.
We've already made a lot of progress - please see pages below for tutorials. Note that the tutorials are works-in-progress and we welcome your comments - especially from faculty and students interested in building Apps as part of class or thesis projects. Please get in touch with Ann Loraine or David Norris for details.
