Introduction

Each IGB release requires general smoke testing separate from the testing of affected subsystems.

The purpose of this page is to provide testers with a quick checklist of items to test during general smoke testing.

 

General Smoke Testing Checklist

  1. Verify that all commonly used file formats are properly supported in IGB by loading all files available on the Smoke Testing Quickload.
    • Add a Data Provider to IGB using the following URL: http://igbquickload.org/smokeTestingQuickload/
      • The added Quickload site is available for the Homo sapien genome under the Available Data pane.

      • Select each checkbox and load the data. Verify that all data sets in the Quickload site are loading into IGB.
        • Bam
          • Bam Homo sapiens 
        • Bed
          • Bed - not compressed (Chr1 only)

          • Bed - gzip compressed
        • BedGraph
          • BedGraph - not compressed

          • BedGraph - gzip compressed
        • BigBed
          • BigBed (binary file containing its own index)
        • BigWig
          • BigWig (binary file containing its own index)
        • GFF3
          • GFF3 chromosome 1 only - uncompressed
          • GFF3 chromosome 1 only - gzip compressed
        • GTF
          • GTF chromosome 1 only - uncompressed
          • GTF chromosome 1 only - gzip compressed
        • NarrowAndBroadPeak
          • BroadPeak - uncompressed
          • BroadPeak - gzip compressed
          • NarrowPeak - uncompressed
          • NarrowPeak - gzip compressed
        • Sam - no testing required currently 
        • Wig
          • Wig - not compressed
          • Wig - gzip compressed
        • VCF
          • VCF - not compressed
