There are several ways to save data for use in other applications, sharing, or later use in IGB.

Saving annotation and graph tracks

IGB is designed for viewing existing data, but does allow you to create new annotation and graph tracks; new annotations can be created from annotation combination (Creating Advanced Annotation Tracks) or from graph tracks (Applying thresholds to graphs).  Graph tracks can be created from annotation tracks (Creating Graph Tracks from Annotation Tracks) or from graph tracks (Advanced Graph Manipulation). These new tracks can be incredibly helpful in the analysis of your data. As such, you can save these (or any other) track to a file. To save either type of track, open the Right-click Menu from the selected track label and select Save Annotations; IGB will know what type of track you are working with and either offer Save track as BED file or Save graph as WIG file

Copying sequence bases

You can copy a sequence of bases to the clipboard. Click-drag to highlight the sequence you want copied; either right click within the selected sequence to open the menu and chose Copy, or use the Edit drop down menu and chose Copy Selected Residues to Clipboard.

Copying data from table cells

You can copy and paste table cells from the Selection Info panel (or most other tables) to the clipboard and paste them into Excel or some other program.

To capture data in table cells:

  • Click and drag to select the cells you want.
  • Copy (using Control-C) and then paste into the target application.
